You can still search Google Maps to figure out how to get from here to there, but why would you, when you can use it to pinpoint kosher restaurants in Cincinnati, traffic cameras in Dublin, or hot spring spas anywhere in the United States? How about finding coffee shops in Seattle that provide free wireless Internet access? Or would you prefer to locate the McMansion your boss just bought and find how out exactly how much he paid for it?

How about some pre-planned evacuation routes that don't use the Interstate for each zip code.

Shoot in good lighting. Video needs lots of light. If it's too dark inside, then go out, at least for your first project or two. Use a big memory card. Video takes up much more memory than still pictures. I recommend 1GB. Record at the highest quality and resolution possible. For example, if you camera supports 640x480 at 30fps, go for it. Get close. Compose your frame tightly. These movies will be viewed at 320x240, which isn't exactly movie theater size. So stay away from distance shots and get close to your subjects. Try to avoid too much background noise (audio). On-camera microphones tend to pick up *everything,* so try to control background noise best you can. And beware of wind! It sounds terrible. Figure out what you're going to shoot before you press the record button. You don't have to have a full blown storyboard, but sketch out your scenes beforehand. Keep your movies to 5 minutes or less. You have a better chance of holding your audience's attention.

Habitual activity--smoking, eating fatty foods, gambling--changes neural activity patterns in a specific region of the brain when habits are formed. These neural patterns created by habit can be changed or altered. But when a stimulus from the old days returns, the dormant pattern can reassert itself, according to a new study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, putting an individual in a neural state akin to being on autopilot.

I think this is what Aristotle was talking about, "The unexamined life is not worth living." It is far to easy to fall into a pattern of habits and not do anything that is needful.

It takes work to move out of our comfort zone, and it is mainly by rewiring our brain.

The hardest thing to break a habit is to stay away from the old triggers that start our habit response.

ALONtm is virtually scratch resistant, offers substantial impact resistance, and provides better durability and protection against armor piercing threats, at roughly half the weight and half the thickness of traditional glass transparent armor, said the lieutenant.

Now if Apple would make their iPods out of this stuff no one
would complain about scratches.

Podcasting is growing "faster than the Web, faster than blogs, faster than e-mail, faster than just about anything else," said Chris Spurgeon, who covers new media for public radio's "Weekend America."

Of course, it is growing fast. We can speak 3+ times are fast as we can write. All you really need to do hardware wise is to hook up a mic to your computer and press record, then upload it to a server somewhere and the blog services have pretty much automated that. How easy do you want it?
